Right-Click (Shortcut Menu)
While on a WS_FTP remote site window, you can right-click to view the WS_FTP shortcuts. The commands on this menu are as follows:
Note: Shortcut menu options vary, depending on context of the application window.
- Explore - Navigates to the selected folder.
- Open - Opens file in associated application.
- Copy - Copies a file or folder to be 'pasted' to another site.
- Copy URL - Copies the URL of the path (path and filename) to be 'pasted' to a text field.
- Paste - Uploads or downloads a file or folder that has been copied.
- Select All - Selects all files and folders in the current directory.
View Options
- Large Icons - Changes the layout of the list pane to show file names along with large icons associated with the file type.
- Small Icons - Changes the layout of the list pane to show file names along with small icons associated with the file type.
- List - Changes the layout of the list pane to show an ordered list of files in a selected directory.
- Details - Changes the layout of the list pane to show an ordered list of files with the name, size, type, time of last modification, and attributes listed.
- Thumbnails - Changes the layout of the list pane to show thumbnails of graphics and the icons associated with other file types.
Arrange Icons
- by Name - Sorts the file list by Name.
- by Type - Sorts the file list by Type.
- by Size - Sorts the file list by Size.
- by Date - Sorts the file list by Date.
Arrange Folders
- On Top - Folders are listed in a group above the list of files.
- Mixed With Files - Folders are listed together with files in alphabetical order.
- On Bottom - Folders are listed in a group below the list of files.
Operations
- Transfer - Transfers the file to the current local directory.

- Create Thumbnails - Generates thumbnail images for all of the images in the folder.

- Send To > WS_FTP HotDrops menu with the remote directory name - In Windows Explorer or the local WS_FTP main window, right-click to select a favorite FTP site to transfer files to.

The following are items on the shortcut menu when you right-click in the local site window:
- WS_FTP OpenPGP > Encrypt - Select to use an encryption key to encrypt a local file.
- WS_FTP OpenPGP > Sign - Select to add your digital signature to a local file.
- WS_FTP OpenPGP > Encrypt and Sign - Select to use an encryption key to encrypt a local file and to add your digital signature file.
- WS_FTP OpenPGP > Decrypt and Verify - Decrypt an OpenPGP encrypted local file and verify its digital signature.
The following items are active on the shortcut menu when you right-click in the local site window, if you are also connected to a remote site:
- WS_FTP Transfer > Encrypt and Transfer - Select to use an encryption key to encrypt a file before transfer.
- WS_FTP Transfer > Sign and Transfer - Select to add your digital signature to a file. By adding your digital signature, you provide a higher degree of confidence in the file integrity for those downloading your files.
- WS_FTP Transfer > Encrypt, Sign, and Transfer - Select to first encrypt a file, then to add your digital signature.
The following are items on the right-click (shortcut) menu when you right-click in the Address, Local System, or Remote System boxes.
- Undo - Erases the last edit you made to the selected box.
- Cut - Removes text to be pasted into another box.
- Copy - Copies text to be 'pasted' to another box.
- Paste - Places cut or copied text from your clipboard into the selected box.
- Delete - Clears all text from the box.
- Select All - Selects all text in the selected box.
The following are items on the right-click (shortcut) menu when you right-click in the Connection Log Window.
- Save As - Select this option to save your log file. The Save As dialog appears.
- Clear - Completely deletes all text in your Log Window.
- Print - Opens your default text editor and prints the log file to your default printer.
- Copy - Copies the selected log text to your clipboard. You can paste this text in any text editor.
- Select All - Selects all of the text in your Log Window.
