Moving files

To move a file means to copy it from one location to another location and delete it from the source location.

Before you can move a file, you must select Allow files and folders to be moved from the General dialog of Program Options. To display the General options, select Tools > Options, or click Options in the toolbar.

You can move files from one location on an FTP site to another location on the same site if you have the appropriate permissions from the site administrator.

  • To move a file, select the file and drag it to the new folder on the same site.
  • You can also right-click on the file and select Operations > Move Files. You will be asked to enter the path to the folder you want to move the file to.
  • You can also right-click and drag the file to the new folder, then select Move Here from the pop-up menu.
