How do I save a site after I've entered it in the Address bar

The Address bar can be used in two ways to connect to an FTP server:

  • Type the address directly into the Address bar - If you type the address alone (for example, ftp.progress.com), WS_FTP attempts to make an anonymous connection to the server. If you have a user name and password for the server, enter them in the boxes following the address field, after entering the ftp address in the address box. You can also enter the user name and password in front of the address in this format: username:password@ftp.progress.com:port/path.
  • Use the list box to select a recently visited site - When you connect to a site, a record of that connection is stored in the list box. You can connect to that site by selecting the entry. WS_FTP attempts to connect using the same options defined when the site was last visited. Only server address, user name, and password are saved in the Address bar.
Note: You can customize the Address bar. To make changes, click the arrow at the end of the Address bar, then select Add or remove buttons.
Note: You can make an SSL or SSH connection by selecting the type of secure connection from the lock icon next to the address box.

Saving a site entered on the Address Bar

  1. Right-click on the connection tab and select Add to Site Manager.
  2. Enter a name for the site.

When you complete the wizard, the FTP site is added to the Site Manager.
