Create HotDrops
HotDrops are shortcuts for transferring files to remote FTP directories. Create a HotDrop from the shortcut (right-click) menu on a remote site.
After you create a hotdrop, it displays as an icon in the selected folder on your computer. HotDrops include the FTP folder name; for example, mysite. Files dragged and dropped on the hotdrop icon are transferred to the selected FTP directory.
- Destination Folder - Enter or browse to the folder you want as the destination for the HotDrop.
- Save password when creating HotDrop - Click to select this option if you want to automatically use the site's password when transferring files to a hotdrop site.Note: Important: The save password option is only enabled if the connection is made from the Address bar.
- Local startup folder when opening this folder from the shell - Enter the folder you want to appear in the local system pane when you open this site favorite folder, for example, My Computer.
- Create shortcut in Send To Menu - Click to select this option if you also want to add the new HotDrop to the shortcut (right-click) > Send To > WS_FTP HotDrop menu options.

HotDrops in Send To Menu are shortcuts for transferring files to remote FTP directories. Create a HotDrop in the Send To Menu from the shortcut (right click) menu in the Site Manager.
After you create a HotDrop in the Send To Menu, the site is added to the right-click menu with the site name; for example, mysite. When you right-click on a file in Windows Explorer or the local WS_FTP main window, select Send To > WS_FTP HotDrop and the name of the target HotDrop site in the list, the file is transferred to the selected FTP directory. Sites that are set as HotDrop in the Send To menu are indicated with a check mark beside the site icon.
