Confirming overwrites
Most sites allow you to overwrite (replace) a file without giving you a warning. However, you can have WS_FTP display a confirmation dialog box when you are about to overwrite a file:
- In the toolbar, click Options.
- Select the Transfers page.
- In the File overwrite prompt section, select one of the following:
- Don't prompt for overwrite (always overwrite) - Select this option to have WS_FTP overwrite all files when you attempt to transfer to a destination where a file with the same name exists.
- Prompt for overwrite if file exists - Select this option to have WS_FTP prompt before it overwrites a file when you attempt to transfer to a destination where a file with the same name exists.
- Prompt for overwrite for same or new files only -Select this option to have WS_FTP ask if you want to overwrite a file when you attempt to transfer a file to a destination where there is the same or newer version (by date and time). Note that this feature will not work with some FTP sites.
