Using Search options

Use the Search Options to narrow the search criteria when the Local Desktop Search option (Windows search) is enabled under Tools > Options > General > Desktop Search Technology list.

Note: The Search Options button is disabled when the Google Desktop Search or the Copernic Desktop Search utility is installed and enabled. To select and enable a different local desktop search utility, go to Tools > Options > General > Desktop Search Technology list.

Enter the search criteria in the search box. Use * and ? to specify wildcard search characters. You can search based on a single criteria, or if you have selected the Local Desktop Search option, you can enter multiple search criteria in the Search option dialog:

  • Look in. Enter the file path or click the folder icon to browse for the file path to search for files in.
