Connecting to a MOVEit DMZ Server
MOVEit DMZ is a highly secure enterprise data transfer server which boasts end-to-end encrypted transfer and storage of data and files and delivers powerful administration and reporting capabilities.
When used with MOVEit DMZ, WS_FTP Professional provides:
- Automatic end-to-end file non-repudiation
Non-repudiation ensures the integrity of transferred files and prove who uploaded and who downloaded a specific file.
- Compression of files
Automatic file compression and decompression delivers faster transfer speeds.
- File integrity
Guarantees that the file uploaded and the file downloaded are identical.
- Encryption of client-server connections with 256-bit AES encryption.
- FIPS 140-2 validated cryptography for both client and server.
- HTTPS optimization
Transfers over HTTPS use automatic compression, non-repudiation, and file integrity.
To connect to a MOVEit DMZ server:
- In the Connections menu, select New Connection.
- Follow the directions in the Connection Wizard to set the Site name, Connection type, Server address, User name and password.
- On the last screen of the wizard (the Finish screen), click Advanced. The Site Options dialog opens.
- In the left pane, select Advanced. The Advanced options page
opens.

- For Server type, check with the MOVEit DMZ administrator to see which type is implemented. MOVEit DMZ is likely to require FTPS, or SSH secure connections.
- For Host type, select MOVEit DMZ, then click OK.
- On the Finish screen, make sure Connect to this site is selected, then click Finish. Progress WS_FTP Professional connects to the site and displays the user home folder.
