The User Insights functionality in LoadMaster 360 provides deeper insights into your applications. Insights are provided relating to the connections through the Virtual Services and Real Servers for your mapped applications.

You can access the User Insights page in LoadMaster 360 by following these steps:
  1. Click Applications in the menu at the top.
  2. Click an application link name.
  3. Click User Insights.
Note: You must have a LoadMaster with firmware version 7.2.62 or above for the User Insights feature to work. If the LoadMaster associated with the selected application has a version below 7.2.62, a message displays on the User Insights page that says LoadMaster upgrade needed.

To use the User Insights functionality in LoadMaster 360, you must configure application mapping. For further details, refer to the following section: Application mapping.

You can enable the Enable Request logging toggle in the top-right of the User Insights page to generate request log data on the LoadMaster. The User Insights page shows data for the last run. After enabling the Enable Request logging toggle, it takes approximately one minute to start logging. This is a global LoadMaster setting that gets enabled for all applications on the same LoadMaster.
Note: Generating request log traffic on the LoadMaster can slow down L7 processing that requires system resources.

When you enable request logging, it is enabled for 10 minutes (or until the storage limit is reached) and it cannot be disabled.

Some other things to note about the request logging functionality are as follows:
  • A second LoadMaster 360 user cannot enable request logging if it has already been enabled (it gets enabled for 10 minutes). The toggle appears grayed out.

  • If you have multiple LoadMasters connected to a single Connector, request logging can only be enabled on one LoadMaster at a time. If it is enabled on one LoadMaster, it cannot be enabled on another.

  • After 10 minutes request logging is automatically disabled and the User Interface is refreshed.

  • Each time request logging is enabled, the old data is overwritten with new log data.
  • While request logging is enabled, the information is queried and displayed in LoadMaster 360. This can take some time to populate.
  • Navigating to a different application within LoadMaster 360 that is linked to the same LoadMaster will also record information for that application
You can filter the information in the Client request insights table by the following:
  • Client IP address

  • Response
The Client request insights table in the User Insights page displays the:
  • Timestamp of the request
  • Client IP address and port

The section on the right displays detailed information for the selected request, including:
