Follow the steps in the sections below to create the Connector Virtual Machine (VM) using the Azure User Interface (UI).

Upload the Connector VHD to the storage account

First, follow these steps to upload the Connector VHD image to the storage account:
  1. Open the Azure Portal.
  2. Click Resource groups.
  3. Click the relevant resource group.
  4. Click the relevant Storage account.
  5. Click Containers.
  6. Click Container and create a new folder.
  7. Click the newly-created container.
  8. Click Upload.
  9. Browse to and select the Connector vhd file that was extracted from the previously downloaded zip file when you created the Connector in LoadMaster 360.

Create the managed disk using the uploaded VHD

After the Connector VHD image has been uploaded, you can create the managed disk by following these steps:
  1. Type disk in the search bar and click Disks.
  2. Click Create.

  3. Select the relevant Subscription, Resource group, and Region and enter a Disk name.
  4. Select the relevant Availability zone.
  5. Select Storage blob as the Source type.
  6. Click Browse under the Source blob field.
  7. Browse to and select the Connector vhd file that was uploaded earlier (click the relevant storage account, click the container, and select the Connector vhd).
  8. Select Linux as the OS type.
  9. Keep the VM generation setting as the default of Generation 1.
  10. Select 32 GiB as the Size.
  11. Click Review + create.

Create the Connector VM from the managed disk

After creating the managed disk, you can create the Connector VM by following these steps:

  1. Select the disk and click Create VM.
  2. Enter the Virtual machine name. We recommend that this name is the same as the Connector name in LoadMaster 360.
  3. Fill out the details as appropriate, for example, select the relevant Virtual network and Subnet, and create the VM.
Note: When setting up the Connector in Azure, ensure that the Boot diagnostics option is enabled. If this option is enabled, you can access the serial console that provides details about the boot process and the ability to log in.
  4. Click Create.

It takes approximately 4 minutes for the Connector to become reachable in LoadMaster 360 after the Virtual Machine is deployed in Azure.

When adding a LoadMaster that is deployed in Azure to LoadMaster 360, ensure to include the port number as part of the IP address, for example, <IPAddress>:8443.
