A LoadMaster High Availability (HA) failover has occurred. A failover event results in a brief loss of connection but it is typically an indication of an underlying issue that caused the active unit to become unavailable.

The following text describes an example scenario where this may occur. A switch configuration is being updated and an incorrect interface is placed into a private VLAN. This interface is currently used by the LoadMaster HA checks. The error is recognized and reverted quickly but in the meantime due to loss of communication from the Active unit, the secondary LoadMaster becomes Active. As a result, a HA failover has occurred and services remain available.

If the units are flapping (going up and down) or HA is unstable, we suggest following the best practices in this article: HA pair unable to communicate.
