- LoadMaster backups can only be taken from LoadMaster 360 of LoadMasters with firmware version 7.2.62 or above.
- Backup retention is currently limited to 10 backups per LoadMaster.
- Each backup file must not exceed 100 MB in size. The average file size is approximately 2.9 MB.
- Up to 9 backups can be locked on a single LoadMaster. At least one backup must remain unlocked to allow rotation.
- If multiple backups are scheduled to run at the same time, they are queued to prevent overloading the Connector.
- Each backup includes a verification hash to ensure file integrity.
The Backup Management page (that you can access using the Infrastructure tab) in LoadMaster 360 is designed to centrally manage, schedule, and store encrypted backups for LoadMasters. For further details on the LoadMaster backup and restore process, refer to the LoadMaster Backup and Restore Technical Note.
- Success: The last backup completed successfully without any issues.
- Warning: The backup completed but there were minor problems (for example, the data was only partially backed up or there were SSL certificate issues). Backups in this status require a review.
- Failed: The backup did not complete because of a problem, for example, connectivity, authentication, or storage issues.
- Scheduled: A backup schedule exists and is waiting for its next run.
- Disabled: This backup is turned off and will not run until it is re-enabled.
- Timeout: The communication has timed out. The resource may be down. There might be a communication issue between the Connector, LoadMaster, and/or the cloud.
- Canceled: The backup was canceled prior to the next scheduled run.
- Apiversion: The Application Programming Interface (API) version is incompatible. Check that the LoadMaster firmware is supported by LoadMaster 360.
- Unauthorized: There is a credentials issue - the LoadMaster is rejecting the request. Check to ensure that the API key is still valid.
The LoadMaster drop-down lets you choose which LoadMaster instance(s) you want to view or manage backups for.
Click Create Schedule to set up a new backup schedule for a selected LoadMaster instance. You can define the backup frequency (daily or custom) and specify the time for execution.
Click Edit to modify, enable, or disable an existing backup schedule for the selected LoadMaster.
Click Download to download the selected backup file to your local machine.
Click Delete to remove a backup file from the system.
Click Lock to prevent a backup from being deleted during backup rotation (useful for compliance or critical configurations).
On the right, there is a Columns drop-down that allows you to specify which columns to display in the table.
