The Host CPU Utilization - Last Poll dashboard report displays the average value of the overall CPU utilization for a selected VMware host allowing you to monitor for percentage spikes which could indicate an issue.
By default, a gauge representing average CPU utilization percentage for the selected host is displayed. However, on the Virtual Monitoring page, you can also configure this dashboard report to display specific CPU data elements as well as the format in which report data is displayed.
Please note, this dashboard report can only be configured when viewed on the Virtual Monitoring tab or when added to a custom dashboard. When viewed on any static, Ipswitch-provided dashboard view, you can not customize the dashboard report aside from selecting the target device.
To customize the report data displayed:
- Click the Report Menu icon in the upper-right corner of the dashboard report to launch the configuration dialog.
- Indicate which CPU data elements you want to display in the report by selecting the corresponding check boxes under Show Series.
- Select the dashboard report format from the Chart Type list:

- Table
- Text
- Click Save.
The following information is displayed when report data is displayed in table format:
- CPU. The individual CPU on the selected virtual machine.
- % Utilization. The percentage of the CPU currently in use. The colors displayed in the this column indicate the following:
- Red. Above 90%
- Yellow. Between 80% and 90%
- Green. 80% or less
