The User Permissions dashboard presents all access rights an assignments currently configured in your instance of WhatsUp Gold within a single view. This information is categorized into the following individual dashboard reports.
- User Device Group Access Rights. This report displays the user groups to which a user account belongs and the device group access rights inherited from those groups along with any device group access rights assigned directly to the user account.
- Device Access Rights. When a device is selected, this report displays the device groups containing the selected device. When a user is selected, this report displays rolled up device group access rights for each applicable device group.
- Device Group Access Rights. This report displays the settings currently configured in the Device Group Access Rights settings dialog accessible from the User and Group Library interface.
Please note, the reports displayed on this dashboard view are automatically filtered for the user logged into WhatsUp Gold and the home device group configured for that user account.
When viewing device group permission information in the Device Group Access Rights dialog or on the User Permissions dashboard:
- A green check indicates the user/group has these permissions. To see if the user/group has additional inherited permissions, enable the Include Parent User Groups option in the User Device Group Access Rights report.
- A greyed-out check indicates the user has these permissions and that they were inherited from one or more user groups. This can be seen when Include Parent User Groups is enabled n the User Device Group Access Rights report.
- A blank space indicates the user/group has not been granted this individual permission.
- A blank row indicates the user/group has no rights for this device group.
All dashboard report data can be sorted and filtered as needed to assist with troubleshooting issues related to or caused by incorrectly configured or assigned user or group permissions.
