The NOC Viewer Library is where you can see a list of existing slide decks available for display. You can also use the controls within this dialog to create new slide decks as well as edit, copy, or remove them from WhatsUp Gold similar to other libraries in WhatsUp Gold. This dialog also has two unique features specific to the NOC functionality:

  • First, you can launch any slide deck in the NOC Viewer directly from the NOC Viewer Library simply by selecting it in the library, then clicking Play.
  • Next, you can share any slide deck by selecting it in the library, then clicking Copy deck link. Doing so launches a dialog containing a URL specific to the target slide deck. Click Copy to add the URL to your system's clipboard. Please note, if you want the shared slide deck to be locked in order to prevent the recipient from editing it, make sure the Lock NOC Viewer checkbox is enabled prior to copying the URL.

To access the NOC Viewer Library, select Libraries > NOC Viewer Library from the SETTINGS menu.

Note: The NOC Viewer Library can also be accessed directly from the NOC Viewer by clicking the icon.

To create a new slide deck:

  1. Click the Add icon in the NOC Viewer Library to launch the Edit View deck dialog.
  2. Enter a name for the new slide deck in the field provided.
  3. Click the Add icon in the Edit View deck dialog to launch the Add Views to Deck dialog.
  4. Navigate to or search for any individual slide view you want to appear in the new deck using the controls at left.
  5. Drag and drop your selected slide view to the area on the right side of the dialog to build your new deck. You can also click the icon to the right of the desired slide view, then select either Add view to slide deck with current settings or Configure view before adding to slide deck.

Note: Selecting the latter launches the view inside an Edit view dialog where modifications can be made. You can also use this dialog to change the view name and set the length of time the slide will appear in the NOC Viewer. When you are finished configuring the slide, click Save to return to the Add Views to Deck dialog.

Note: If you've selected a slide from the Dashboards/Views category, a third option allowing you to Add dashboard reports as seperate slides may also be presented. Choosing this option adds an individual slide to the slide deck for each of the reports found on the selected dashboard.

Important: If you are presented with a message in red under the Settings column when adding an individual report, additional configuration is required before report data will appear on the slide when the NOC viewer is launched.

  6. Repeat the previous step as needed to populate the new slide deck.
  7. Once your list of slides is complete, you can use the controls provided to perform additional actions applicable to individual slides within the deck, if needed. For additional information, please see Working with individual slides.
  8. Click OK to save your slide deck.
