The vCenter logging area of Device Properties allows you to enable and configure the collection and logging of virtualization monitor events. Access vCenter logging by selecting any vCenter on the map view or device list view, clicking the Device Properties icon on the device information card, then selecting the vCenter logging tab. When collecting events from a vCenter server, you can alert on certain events using Alert Center as well as consult applicable reports to browse and search for events.
First, enable event collection using the Status toggle control. Then, refine your data collection by choosing which events to log using the applicable checkboxes:
- All High Availability error events
- All Virtual machine Migration events
- All security related events
- Other events
Please note, the first three event collection options can be exanded to view the static lists of events seen above that will be collected when each option is enabled. The Other events option can be expanded to reveal several additional specific events that can be selected for collection individually.
