Configuring Exchange 2003 monitors

The Exchange active monitor lets you monitor the Microsoft® Exchange™ 2003 Server and Microsoft® Exchange™ 2000 Server applications. The Exchange 2003 Monitor provides real-time information about the state and health of Microsoft 2003 Exchange servers on your network. To create custom parameters to monitor, the Exchange Server host must be WMI-enabled. For more information, see Example: Exchange Server 2003 monitor
This monitor requires the following credentials:
- Windows
The Microsoft Exchange 2003 Monitor is available in Network Performance Monitor Premium Edition. To update your license, visit the WhatsUp Customer Portal.
Configure the following:
- Name. Enter a unique name for the active monitor. This name displays in the Monitor Library.
- Description. Enter additional information about the monitor. This description displays next to the monitor name in the Monitor Library.
- Thresholds to monitor. Select the thresholds you want to monitor. To configure the setting for a threshold, highlight the parameter, then click Configure.
- Services to monitor. Select the services you want to monitor. By default, all services are selected.
- Use in Rescan. Select this option to have the monitor appear in the Active Monitor list on the Device Properties page. Network Performance Monitor adds the monitor type to the device during a rescan, which is started using the Rescan button on the Device Properties page, if the protocol or service is active on the device.
