An aggregate source combines data from all of the assigned interfaces, and reports on that data as if it originated from a single NTA source. You can aggregate (organize) traffic metrics handled by one or more specific network interfaces into single views using aggregate sources. Aggregate sources can be selected like other sources for purposes of dashboards and reporting.

To create an aggregate source:

  1. Select Network Traffic Analysis > NTA Sources from the SETTINGS main menu item to launch the NTA Source Library.
  2. Click the Add icon, then choose Aggregate Source from the options displayed to launch the Interface Aggregation dialog.
  3. Enter a Name for the aggregate source. This is how the source will be displayed in the Flow Sources dialog.
  4. Use the toggle provided to Enable Interface Aggregation.
  5. Select the Access rights tab to set access rights to flow data from the aggregate source.
Note: If you do not have permissions to manage users, Access rights button is not accessible.
  6. Return to the General tab, then click the Add icon within the dialog to add an interface to the aggregate source.
  7. Select an interface to add, then click OK. The interface is added to the Interfaces list on the Interface Aggregation dialog.
  8. When you have added all of the interfaces you want to combine using the aggregate source, click OK to return to the Interface Aggregation dialog.
  9. Click Save. The aggregate source appears in the NTA Flow Sources library.
