The Network Path Health report provides a visual, hop‑by‑hop view of the network path from your monitored site to its destination, along your selected connector. This report uses data collected by the cloud connector to help you identify latency issues, timeouts, and alternative routing paths that may impact performance. Use this report to quickly determine where delays or interruptions occur, whether inside your network or across external providers.

Select Reports > Network Path Health from the main menu to access the report.

The left panel lists available paths for the selected time range. Each path entry shows:

  • Timestamp of the path. The date and time the path was first recorded (e.g., 2026-07-22 08:10). This marks when the connector detected the current hop-by-hop route; a new timestamp entry is created only when the path changes, not on every measurement cycle. The most recent entry is tagged -current- and is pinned to the top of the list regardless of the selected time range.
  • Number of hops. The total count of network devices or endpoints traversed between the source and destination for that recorded path (e.g., 7 hops). This number can vary between entries if routing changes add or remove intermediate hops, making it a quick way to spot route changes at a glance.
  • End-to-end latency. The total round-trip latency for the entire path, displayed as a color-coded indicator using the same thresholds as the hop-level indicators. This provides an at-a-glance summary of overall path health before you drill into individual hops.
  • Duration of the path. How long that specific path configuration remained active before the route changed again (e.g., 1 hr 15 min or 15 min). This value is shown directly beneath the timestamp and helps you distinguish long-standing, stable routes from short-lived or flapping ones.

The most recently recorded path is labelled -current- at the top of the list. Data gaps appear between entries where no path data was recorded for a period of time. These are labeled with the start time and duration of the gap. Please note, gaps do not indicate a network outage; they indicate that no measurement was collected during that window. Select any path entry at left to display it in the main canvas at right. The main canvas displays a graphical representation of the selected path.

  • Each column represents a hop in the path.
  • Each node represents a device or endpoint in that hop.
  • The path flows from source to destination.

When viewing a path, the active path is highlighted, inactive paths are displayed in a muted or greyed‑out state to indicate alternative routing, and nodes remain in consistent positions when switching paths to help you maintain visual orientation. Please note, only one path can be active at a time. Each hop displays latency using color‑coded indicators. Use these indicators to quickly identify problem areas in the path:

  • Green. Good latency (< 100 ms)
  • Orange. Warning latency (100–180 ms)
  • Red. Critical latency (> 180 ms)
  • Grey / dotted – Timeout or unknown response.

Click any active node to view detailed information about that hop, including its IP address and hop response latency (average and maximum).

Additional Information

  • You can click and drag your cursor to pan across and use your mouse wheel (if applicable) to zoom in and out of the path visualization.

  • Hops beyond this limit appear as unknown or timed‑out. Timeouts may indicate:
    • Network congestion
    • Filtering or firewall behavior
    • Unresponsive intermediate devices

Configure report settings

Select the icon to access the settings dialog. This dialog allows you to adjust date range, filter by site and/or connector, and set latency thresholds, as well as configure additional display options, such as the level of latency shown, timestamp format preference, and inactive paths. Please note, settings are saved per user and apply only to the Network Path Health report.
