This section provides step-by-step instructions on how to deploy a Connector Virtual Machine (VM) in a Nutanix environment.

To create an Nutanix Connector in WhatsUp Gold 360, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Infrastructure > Connectors.
  2. Click Add > Connector to access the Add connector dialog.
  3. Select Nutanix.
  4. Enter a Connector Name.
  5. Select a Disk size for the Connector using the drop-down menu provided.
  6. Indicate if the new Connector should use dynamic host configuration protocol by enabling/disabling the Use DHCP toggle control provided.
Note: If Use DHCP is NOT enabled, enter the applicable Network settings information: IPv4 address, Subnet mask, Gateway, and DNS.
  7. Indicate if you'd like to override the default network time protocol host by enabling the Manually Configure NTP host toggle control provided.
Note: If Manually Configure NTP host is enabled, enter the applicable NTP host information: IPv4 address or fully qualified domain name.
  8. Specify a site for the new connector using the radio buttons provided. You can select an existing site from the applicable drop-down menu or add a new site. If you choose the latter, enter a name for the new site.
  9. Click Add. WhatsUp Gold 360 then creates the Connector deployment file. Generating the deployment file can take up to 10 minutes. When this is complete, the zip file download automatically starts.
  10. Unzip/extract the zip file after the download completes.

At this point, WhatsUp Gold begins generating the connector. You can monitor its progress in the Status column on the Connectors / Server Instances interface. When this process is complete, a .zip file is automatically downloaded to your local machine. This .zip file contains two files required for successful deployment. Please note, that any connector you create is specific to and will only send data to the WhatsUp Gold 360 tenant used to create it.
