To add a new Email Communication Channel:

  1. Click Add Channel, then select Email from the options that appear.
  2. Enter a display name for the communication channel and the email address of the intended recipient.
  3. Ensure the Active channel checkbox is enabled if you want the communication channel to become active once it's successfully added to WhatsUp Gold 360.
  4. Use the controls provided to apply one or more rules within which this communication channel will operate. For additional information, see Rules.
  5. Click Add.

To add a new SMS Communication Channel:

  1. Click Add Channel, then select SMS from the options that appear.
  2. Enter a display name for the communication channel and the phone number of the intended recipient.
  3. Ensure the Active channel checkbox is enabled if you want the communication channel to become active once it's successfully added to WhatsUp Gold 360.
  4. Use the controls provided to apply one or more rules within which this communication channel will operate.
  5. Click Add.

You can customize your notifications by establishing rules, which can be applied either globally across your system or on a per-asset basis. These rules empower you to define precise settings for notification schedules, including specific days, hours, and desired levels of severity.

To create a rule:

  1. When adding a communication channel to WhatsUp Gold 360, click + to launch the Add rule dialog.
  2. Enter a display name for your new rule.
  3. Click Filter, then select Sites or Connectors. Your selection indicates if the communication channel should be used for sites, connectors, or both.
  4. Select Critical and/or Warning. Your selection indicates if the communication channel should be used for incidents categorized as critical, warning, or both.
  5. Specify which days of the week the communication channel should be active by using the radio buttons provided. Select Every day or Specific days. If you choose the latter, use the checkboxes that appear to indicate on which days the communication channel should be used.
  6. Specify when the communication channel should be active by using the radio buttons provided. Select 24 hours or Specific hours. If you choose the latter, use the clock controls that appear to indicate the timeframe the communication channel should be used.
  7. Click Add.

To resend a pending validation request, click the channel name, then click Resend.

To edit a communication channel, click the channel name, then click Edit.

To clone a communication channel, click the channel name, then click Clone.

To delete a communication channel, click the channel name, then click Delete.
