WhatsUp Gold 360 unites individual instances of WhatsUp Gold using tenant-specific virtual machines called connectors which allows data from each instance to be viewed through a single interface. These connectors are generated by WhatsUp Gold 360 and then deployed in your virtual environment.
To use WhatsUp Gold 360, you must deploy at least one connector in your network to monitor your infrastructure. For multi-site environments where multiple WhatsUp Gold instances are managed, the WhatsUp Gold 360 account may have multiple connectors and each connector may manage multiple instances.
Please note, to successfully deploy the connector, you need access to a supported hypervisor. Please see Creating cloud connectors for additional details.
Once a connector has been successfully deployed and is actively communicating with WhatsUp Gold 360, data collected from the WhatsUp Gold instance or instances associated with that connector can be displayed in several "widgets" available for use with the WhatsUp Gold 360 dashboard interface. WhatsUp Gold 360 is installed with an Overview dashboard view, by default. However, the application supports multiple views that can be configured and customized as needed.
WhatsUp Gold 360 can also send notifications when network problems arise through communication channels configured by the user within the application itself. These notifications can be sent via email or SMS messaging and can be refined by applying user-defined rules.
