Settings on this tab:
- Require encryption for remote control. Check to encrypt connections from MOVEit Automation Web Admin or API. Encryption should be enabled for security reasons. However, you can disable encryption if, for instance, you have not obtained a certificate. Note: encryption is always disabled when MOVEit Automation Admin or API is connecting from the same computer (localhost).
- Certificate. This is used only for encrypted links from MOVEit Automation Admin or MOVEit Automation API. The installation program will by default install a "test" (self-signed) certificate for this purpose. If you have an existing SSL certificate on the MOVEit Automation system, you may select it here. Providing a secure connection for MOVEit Automation Admin is not necessary, but it is recommended if MOVEit Automation Admin sessions will be accessing the MOVEit Automation server from outside your private network.
- Cache dir. This is the directory that will be used to
store files while they are being processed by a task; files will automatically be deleted from
here (with NIST 800-88-compliant cryptographic overwrite) when related tasks complete. Normally
this directory should be on your largest available hard drive. Note: You must manually create any alternate folder specified by this location. MOVEit Automation will not create this folder if it is missing. The user under which the MOVEit Automation service runs must have read/write/delete/subdirectory access to this folder.
- Delete from cache w/o overwrite. MOVEit Automation normally deletes and then overwrites its cache files with cryptographic-quality random data. If this option is enabled, file transfers might be faster, especially large, file system-to-file system transfers.
- Start with scheduler disabled. Normally, MOVEit Automation starts running tasks right after starting. Select this option if, for testing or operational purposes, you want to make sure that the MOVEit Automation scheduler is not active when MOVEit Automation starts. MOVEit Automation can still start tasks explicitly via MOVEit Automation Admin or MOVEit Automation API. If this option is selected, you can enable the scheduler after startup via MOVEit Automation Admin; however, the next time MOVEit Automation starts, the scheduler will again be disabled until this option is deselected in the configuration program.
- Web Admin Auth Server URL (2025.1, or later). The URL of the Web Admin server that handles SSO. MOVEit Automation will use this URL to communicate with the Web Admin server for authentication.
- Ignore Cert Errors from Web Admin (2025.1, or later). Select the Ignore Certificate Errors check box if the Web Admin server uses a self-signed certificate. Checking this box allows the setup to continue even if the certificate is not trusted by default.
- Enable SFTP FIPS Mode. SFTP FIPS Mode
is only available with the IPWorks SFTP library and is disabled by default. Enabling FIPS mode
ensures that only Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS 140-2) validated cryptography
(Encryption, Key Exchange, Host Key, Client Key, MAC, and compression algorithms) is used to
communicate with Secure FTP servers. For a detailed list of algorithms used for SSH/SFTP
connections when FIPS mode is enabled or disabled, see Algorithms for SSH/SFTP in Standard Mode and FIPS Mode.Note: Changes to the SFTP FIPS Mode require a MOVEit Automation service restart for the changes to take effect.
- In-App Notifications (2024.1 and
later). To enable in-app notifications, select the In-App
Notifications check box. When in-app notifications are enabled, notifications
display on the Web Admin UI while it is in use to alert you to product releases, update
availability, and inform you of new features. When in-app notification are enabled, users can
access the MOVEit Resource Center from the Notifications icon
in
the menu bar.For more information, see In-App Notifications and Resource Center.
Note: Changes to in-app notifications require a MOVEit Automation service restart for the changes to take effect. - Disable Custom Scripting. To disable
custom scripting, select the Disable Custom Scripting
check box. When custom scripting is disabled, custom scripts cannot be created, and tasks that
use custom scripts fail. Custom scripting is enabled by default.
For more information about custom scripting, see Custom Scripts.
Note: Changes to custom scripting require a MOVEit Automation service restart for the changes to take effect.
