Prerequisites

  • You must be logged in locally on the MOVEit Automation server.
  • The service account must be active and not locked.
  • You must have administrative privileges to update service credentials.

Change the Windows Service Account Password

  1. Change the Password in Windows:
    1. Click Windows Key + R, type compmgmt.msc, and click Enter.
    2. In Computer Management, navigate to System Tools > Local Users and Groups > Users.
    3. Locate the service account (for example, moveitsvc), right-click it, and select Set Password....
    4. Click Proceed to confirm the security notice.
    5. Enter the new password and click OK to apply the change.
  2. Update MOVEit Automation Services:

    Update the credentials for the following Windows services:

    • MOVEit Automation
    • MOVEit Automation Web Admin

    To update each service:

    1. Open Services (click Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and click Enter).
    2. Locate the services, MOVEit Automation and MOVEit Automation Web Admin.
    3. Right-click and select Properties.
    4. Go to the Log On tab.
    5. Enter the updated password for the service account.
    6. Click OK, then restart the service.
