You can export tasks so that the tasks are stored in an XML file that can be imported if required. The task's properties, actions, triggers, and settings are in an XML file.

To export multiple tasks, complete the following steps.

  1. Open the TASKS tab, and use the filters to list the tasks that you want to export.
  2. Click Bulk Actions > Export.
  3. If any of the tasks use keys or certificates, you have the option to select the Export Keys and Certificates check box to export the keys and certificates with the tasks.
  4. Select one of the following export encryption options:
    • Server key - sensitive data is encrypted with a key that is unique to the server.

      Configurations exported with a server key, create an export compatible only with this server.

    • Passphrase - sensitive data is encrypted with a passphrase which allows the configuration to be imported into other MOVEit Automation servers.

      You can use the suggested passphrase or specify your own passphrase.

      Store the passphrase securely, it cannot be retrieved if lost or forgotten.

The tasks are exported to a single XML file. The default name of the exported task is Tasks Export. Typically, your exported tasks are downloaded to the Downloads folder on your system. However, this can vary depending on your browser settings.
