To access this dialog box:

Select RESOURCES > Keys and Certs. In the list, click the name of the PGP key.

You can filter the list.

On the Properties row, click Edit .

Description

Key Name

This name you provided when you created the key. You cannot edit this field.

Preferred Encryption Algorithm

When encrypting, MOVEit Automation uses the symmetric encryption algorithm associated with the public key of the first recipient. Select the preferred encryption algorithm for MOVEit Automation to use when this PGP key is used within the product.

Make your choice based on compatibility with the recipient's software.

Options:
  • Default - uses the default preferred algorithm that is specified in the PGP public key of the recipient. All other choices override this algorithm.
    Note: This is the safest choice.
  • 3DES - Triple DES. Three rounds of the 56 bit DES algorithm.
  • AES128 - 128-bit AES. AES is the Advanced Encryption Standard approved by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.
  • AES192 - 192-bit AES.
  • AES256 - 256-bit AES.
  • CAST5 - 128-bit CAST5. Rarely used outside the context of PGP.
  • IDEA - 128-bit IDEA. Rarely used outside the context of PGP.
  • TWOFISH - Similar in security to AES.
Note: Modifying this option does not edit the PGP key itself. It is an internal MOVEit Automation setting only. An exported PGP key's preferred algorithms, ciphers, and related attributes are not affected by this option.
Important: When editing a PGP Key, the only field you can modify is the Encryption Algorithm. All other fields are read-only and cannot be changed.
