What APIs are available and how can I access them?
There are two types of APIs available to Progress Data Cloud users:
-
Progress Data Cloud API: This API may be used to query and control the Progress Data Cloud platform itself.
-
Service APIs: These APIs are accessed via service-specific endpoints.
The Progress Data Cloud API documentation can be found at https://{tenancy-url}/swagger. You should sign in before accessing this URL because the list of API calls shown varies depending on what platform roles you have been assigned.
The Services page in Progress Data Cloud shows endpoints for the services configured for your tenancy. You can access service-specific APIs through these endpoints. If endpoints are not shown on the Services page, or if you receive an error when accessing them, then you might not have sufficient permissions. Check your role assignments to confirm your access. The API Details option in each service-specific menu shows a dialog with endpoint information, sample connection code, and links to documentation.
Specific service API documentation:
- Classification Language Service developers guide: This API can be used against any endpoint defined for the service.
- Concepts Service documentation: This API can be used against any endpoint defined for the service.
- MarkLogic 12 REST API Reference: This API can be accessed via the admin UI endpoint (the endpoint that maps the AdminCloud MarkLogic Server App Server). For example, the admin endpoint
https://{tenancy-url}/ml/ml/default/0/adminmay be appended in the following way to retrieve server configuration details:https://{tenancy-url}/ml/ml/default/0/admin/admin/v1/server-config. Refer to the MarkLogic documentation hub for documentation on other MarkLogic APIs. - Semantic Integration Server developers guide: This API can be used against any endpoint defined for the service.
- Semaphore Studio Knowledge Model Management API documentation: This API can be used against the KMM URL only which can be obtained by clicking on the Models option in the Semaphore Studio interface to display KMM. The base path of the URL shown in the browser is the API endpoint (see documentation for details).
Note that custom endpoints provided for any service and their APIs may be documented separately. Contact your tenant administrators for more information.
Why is my endpoint not responding?
After you review endpoint product documentation and confirm that you have the roles required to access the endpoint, if you need further assistance:
-
For Cloud Management REST API, contact the Progress Data Cloud Operations Team.
-
For service-related endpoints, contact your tenant administrators.
Why is my service missing?
Within the Progress Data Cloud interface, the items displayed are affected by your assigned roles. Semaphore-related services require Semaphore-related roles, while MarkLogic Server Service-related services require MarkLogic Server Service-related roles. Additionally, each instance of a service requires a separate role. That is, you can be a MarkLogic Administrator for instance A of MarkLogic Server Service, but not for instance B.
Check the roles of the account that you are using to access the service to make sure that you have roles within the service that is missing.
How do I get access to additional functionality?
Contact your tenant administrators to request additional roles within the services that you can access.
How do I get more product services?
Contact your tenant administrators to request roles within services that your organization has purchased that you currently cannot access.
To access services available through Progress Data Cloud that your organization did not purchase, contact whoever in your organization was responsible for purchasing Progress Data Cloud.
