How do I minimize downtime without implementing dual-write?

Use Backup/Restore with journal archiving. Perform a full restore in PDC, enable journal archiving on the source, and replay journals immediately before cutover. This keeps the final outage window limited to journal shipping and replay.

We don’t have ml-gradle. Can we still migrate configuration?

Yes. Export and codify your current configuration, including app servers, databases, indexes, security, and certificates, into scripts or ml-gradle as part of the migration. Security and keystore migration typically require the most careful planning and validation.

When is Flux preferred over MLCP?

Flux is the strategic tool for PDC workflows. It supports more flexible sources and targets, integrates with PDC, and better batching, streaming, and preview capabilities for modern pipelines.
