Automate MFT provides a task import workflow that helps you migrate individual tasks from MOVEit Automation to Automate MFT. The import process converts supported MOVEit Automation task configuration into Automate MFT tasks, endpoints, authentication methods, schedules, keys, certificates, parameters, and task steps where possible.
MOVEit Automation and Automate MFT use different configuration models, and do not support identical functionality. The import process will add special comments within the task containing summary data and any specific issues found during import. After import, review the task configuration, warnings, schedules, endpoints, authentication methods, and execution logic before testing or enabling the task. All imported tasks are created with Auto-Run disabled and without an assigned agent. Imported tasks do not run automatically after import.
Recommended workflow
- Prepare the source and target environments.
- Export an individual task from MOVEit Automation.
- Import the exported task file into Automate MFT.
- Review warnings, errors, created entities, and reused entities.
- Review and configure the imported task.
- Assign an agent or agent pool.
- Test the task with Auto-Run disabled.
- Disable the equivalent MOVEit Automation task or schedule.
- Enable Auto-Run in Automate MFT only after validation is complete.
Automate MFT attempts to preserve as much task behavior as possible, but import does not guarantee exact behavioral equivalence with MOVEit Automation. Some steps cannot be imported into Automate MFT and will instead be converted into comments. You may need to recreate some functionality in order for some imported tasks to function correctly. Review task steps, endpoints, authentication methods, schedules, comments, and warnings before running the task manually or enabling Auto-Run
