During the import process, Automate MFT analyzes the exported MOVEit Automation task and converts supported configuration into Automate MFT entities such as endpoints, authentication methods, schedules, keys, certificates, and task steps. When matching entities already exist in the tenant, Automate MFT reuses them instead of creating duplicates.

Use the Automate MFT import wizard to import a MOVEit Automation task export.
  1. Sign in to Automate MFT using an account with the Administrator (system) or Editor (system) role.
  2. On the Tasks page, select New Task > Import. The imported task is added to the folder from which the import was started.
  3. Browse to and select the MOVEit Automation task export file.
  4. Enter the export passphrase, if required.
  5. Select Continue.
  6. Review the import issues.
  7. Review the entities that will be created or reused.
  8. Confirm the import.
  9. Select Finish to open the imported task
After the import completes, Automate MFT opens the new task for editing. The imported task is created with Auto-Run disabled and does not have an assigned agent.
Important: Do not run an imported task until you have reviewed the task configuration, warnings, comments, endpoints, authentication methods, schedules, and execution behavior. This applies even if you plan to run the task manually rather than enabling Auto-Run.
