Imported tasks are not ready for production use immediately after import. Before testing or enabling an imported task, review any warning summary comments, step-level comments, schedules, endpoints, authentication methods, keys and certificates, agent assignments, and task execution logic.
Review task comments
- A warning summary at the beginning of the task.
- Additional warning summary comments if the list of warnings is long.
- Step-level comments above steps that require manual review.
- Comment steps that replace unsupported scripts, unsupported steps, disabled steps, Run Task references, or unsupported workflow behavior.
Review task steps
Review each imported step and confirm that the task logic matches the intended MOVEit Automation behavior.
- Source and destination steps.
- File filters.
- Macros and parameters.
- Zip and unzip behavior.
- PGP encryption and decryption behavior.
- Email and post-run actions.
- Conditional logic.
- Comment steps replacing unsupported configuration.
- Update original, delete original, or rename original behavior.
Review endpoints and authentication methods
Review every endpoint and authentication method used by the imported task.
- Endpoint types are correct.
- Host names, paths, buckets, containers, libraries, and folders are correct.
- Authentication methods contain the expected credentials.
- Keys and certificates were imported, reused, or assigned correctly.
- Any required host public keys or client certificates have been configured manually.
- Any unsupported authentication methods have been replaced or corrected.
Some keys, certificates, credentials, and SSH host public keys cannot be imported automatically. Review all imported authentication methods and endpoint configuration before testing the task. Automate MFT adds warnings when manual configuration is required.
Assign an agent
Imported tasks do not have an agent assigned. Before testing or running the imported task, assign an appropriate Automate MFT agent or agent pool.
Select an agent that can access all required source and destination locations. If the task accesses on-premises systems or private network resources, assign a self-hosted agent with access to those resources.
