The Recycle Bin provides a recovery area for deleted resources in Automate MFT. When a supported item is deleted, it is moved to the Recycle Bin instead of being permanently removed immediately.

Deleted items remain available for restoration during the configured retention period. After the retention period expires, items are permanently deleted automatically.

Note: By default, deleted items are retained for 30 days before permanent deletion.

View deleted items

To view deleted items in the recycle bin:
  1. Click the System drop-down menu and select Recycle Bin.
  2. Review the list of deleted resources.
  3. Use the Resource Type drop-down filter to select the type of item you want to view.
  4. Use the available filters to locate specific items.

Restore deleted items

You can restore items from the Recycle Bin before they are permanently deleted.
  1. Click the System drop-down menu and select Recycle Bin.
  2. Select the item to restore.
  3. Click the more options icon () followed by Restore.
The item is returned to its original location and becomes available for normal use.
Note:

When a task is restored, Auto Run is disabled.

When a schedule is restored, the schedule remains disabled.

This behavior prevents restored objects from executing automatically without review.

Version history

Task version history is preserved while a task remains in the Recycle Bin. When a task is restored, its version history is restored with it.

Permanently delete items

You can permanently delete individual items or empty the entire Recycle Bin.

Permanent deletion removes:
  • The deleted resource.
  • Associated configuration data.
  • Version history.
Important: Items that are permanently deleted cannot be restored.
Delete an individual item
  1. Click the System drop-down menu and select Recycle Bin.
  2. Select the item to restore.
  3. Click the more options icon () followed by Permanently Delete.
The item is permanently deleted.
Empty the Recycle Bin
  1. Click the System drop-down menu and select Recycle Bin.
  2. Click the filter selection drop-down menu, and select Empty Recycle Bin
Important: All items for all resource types currently stored in the Recycle Bin are permanently deleted.

Dependencies and deletion restrictions

Resources that are referenced by active objects cannot be deleted or moved to the Recycle Bin until their dependencies are removed.

Examples include:
  • Schedules assigned to existing tasks.
  • Authentication methods used by endpoints.
  • Endpoints referenced by tasks.

Retention period

Deleted items are retained in the Recycle Bin for a configurable retention period. The default retention period is 30 days. Items are permanently removed after the retention period expires.

Retention settings are managed at tenant level. Contact Progress if a different retention period is required.
