Agent pools allow you to group multiple agents together to improve task distribution and manage workloads more efficiently. Rather than assigning a task to a specific agent, you can assign it to a pool, and Automate MFT will automatically select the best available agent.

Agent pools ensure task execution continues even if an individual agent becomes unresponsive or loses connectivity. When this occurs, other available agents in the pool automatically assume the workload.

Agents are managed from the Library > Agents screen.

  2. The New Agent Pool dialog appears.

    • Name: Provide a unique name for the agent pool.
    • Description: Optionally, enter a description to help identify the purpose or scope of this agent pool.
  4. On the Agents tab, assign agents to the agent pool:
    • Select an agent from the list or start typing the agent name in the search field.
  5. Click Save.

Edit an agent pool

  1. Select an agent pool from the list. Double-click or click the edit icon ().
  2. Edit the agent pool details.
  3. Click Save.

Delete an agent pool

  1. Select an agent pool from the list.
  2. Click the delete icon (). If the agent pool has tasks assigned, you cannot delete it.
  3. If there are no task dependencies, click Delete to confirm.
Deleting an agent pool does not delete the agents within it. If you want to delete the agents themselves, you must delete them individually
