Configure tasks that use Collect Only New

The MOVEit Automation Collect Only New setting maps to the last-processed-file timestamp behavior in Automate MFT. However, the last processed date and time from MOVEit Automation is not imported during task migration. As a result, when an imported task is first enabled, Automate MFT has no existing processing history and may collect or process files that were previously handled by MOVEit Automation if they are still eligible in the source folder.
This procedure is required only when previously processed files remain in the source location and the Collect Only New setting is the mechanism that prevents them from being processed again.
If previously processed files are renamed, moved, deleted, archived, or excluded by other source filters after processing, this procedure is generally not required because those files are no longer eligible for collection
If the user must continue from the MOVEit Automation boundary and collect only files that arrived after the handover, use this migration procedure:
- Disable the task run in MOVEit Automation.
- Configure the Automate MFT Source step with a temporary filter for files created in the last X minutes.
- Wait X minutes and confirm that files are present in the Source folder.
- Run the Automate MFT task once. It processes the handover files and stores the last-processed date and time.
- Remove the temporary X minutes filter from the Source step.
- Enable Auto-Run for the Automate MFT task.
The temporary filter is a cutover safeguard; it should not remain after the first successful Automate MFT run unless that is the intended ongoing business rule.
