Step 5: Create a task

A task is used to exchange files between multiple systems using multiple protocols, and process files with built-in functions and custom scripts. Tasks define how, where, and when data is transmitted or manipulated.
Create a basic task
- Click New Task.
- Enter a task name.
- Add a source step to the task:
- Click the insert step icon (
), select Source, and select an
endpoint. - Choose the SFTP endpoint from step 2 .
- Click Next, then configure the path to the source files, and click Save.

- Add a destination step to the task:
- Click the arrow icon (
) at the location where you
want to add the Destination,
select , and select an endpoint. - Choose the same SFTP endpoint.
- Click Next, then configure the path to the source files, and click Save. Ensure that the path is not the same as the path for the source files.
When you select an endpoint, the dialog displays the endpoint name so you can confirm you are configuring the correct source or destination.
- Click the arrow icon (
- Assign the schedule created in step 4 to the task.
- Assign the self-hosted agent created in step 3 to the task.
- To save the task setup, click Save.
