Use this page to set the time-related configuration of your device. We recommended turning on automatic time synchronization with the NTP service. You can enable this using the Set time automatically option. Choose the closest city and enter the NTP servers.

If you select Use NTP servers supplied by DHCP, the NTP servers are obtained from a DHCP service.

Note:

NTP servers can only be obtained automatically through DHCP if DHCP is configured on Management Interface 1.

If you decide to specify NTP servers manually, click New NTP Server and enter the IP address. To ensure the correct time is always determined, we recommended that you specify at least three servers in case one server is unreachable or provides the incorrect time. The table order determines the NTP server priority, with the primary server at the top and secondary servers following. You can use public NTP servers, for example, the servers of the NTP Pool Project (https://www.ntppool.org/en/).

You can turn on the NTP server on the Flowmon device by enabling the Allow inbound NTP connections option. The NTP server requires several minutes until its clock is stabilized. During this period, the NTP server does not respond to the NTP clients’ requests.

We recommend using time synchronization to allow the device to set the right timestamps in generated NetFlow data.

Click Save to apply the changes. If you have configured these settings for the first time on a brand new device, it is highly recommended to clear a database after this step (see the section Built-In Collector).
