Management Interface 1 is the primary interface for managing the Flowmon appliance. You use it to access the web interface, SSH, and other management services.

Management Interface 1 configuration screen

The Interface index is used to retrieve interface properties and status through SNMP.

Only hardware appliances can configure link settings other than MTU. Virtual appliances inherit link settings from the hypervisor. Select Auto-negotiation to let the interface negotiate optimal settings automatically.

IP configuration

Flowmon appliances support both IPv4 and IPv6. Configure addresses either statically (by selecting the Static radio button and filling the fields) or dynamically (by selecting the DHCP radio button).

You can also manage static routes. Click New static route to open a form that allows you to add an IPv4 or IPv6 static route.

Click Save to apply configuration changes.

Click Clear DNS cache to flush the DNS cache. All DNS names must be resolved again from the DNS server.

Warning:

Assigning an invalid IP address to Management Interface 1 makes the web interface unreachable. You must log in to the device locally (refer to Access to the device console) and fix the settings using the sysconfig tool.
