Configure the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) service on the appliance. SNMP is used for monitoring network devices. You can choose the SNMP version (v1, v2c, or v3) and set the community string for versions v1 and v2c. The default community string is public.

SNMPv3 provides enhanced security features through three security levels:

  • noAuthNoPriv (no authentication, no privacy): Requires only a security name. Provides no protection against unauthorized access or eavesdropping.
  • authNoPriv (authentication, no privacy): Requires a security name and an authentication passphrase. Uses an authentication protocol (MD5, SHA, SHA-256, or SHA-512) to verify the sender's identity, helping protect against unauthorized access. Data is not encrypted.
  • authPriv (authentication and privacy): Requires a security name, an authentication passphrase, and a privacy passphrase. Uses both an authentication protocol (MD5, SHA, SHA-256, or SHA-512) and a privacy protocol (AES-128), helping protect against unauthorized access and eavesdropping.

Click Save to apply the configuration.
