To receive email from your device, you must enable sending and specify your email account and server. Enter the Send email notification from address that will be used as the default sender address and the SMTP server domain name or IP address. Choose an encryption method in the Security protocol drop-down menu - this will auto-populate the default value into the Port field. If your SMTP server uses an authorization mechanism, enable the Use SMTP authentication option and set your Username and Password. Your password is encrypted and a regular user cannot read it. Click Save to apply the changes.
Some security options are listed and described below:
- Verify peer: If enabled, the device will verify the certificate of the SMTP server.
- Verify peer name: If enabled, the device checks that the server's certificate matches the hostname (or IP address) used to connect to the server.
- Allow self-signed certificates: If enabled, the device accepts self-signed certificates.
Depending on their configuration, some Flowmon modules or components may use a different sender address than the one specified in the Send email notification from text box. Ensure your SMTP server is configured to accept emails with a sender address that differs from the one configured in the Send email notification from text box.
