Using the Appropriate Credentials

MOVEit credentials. This refers to your MOVEit Transfer username and password. These were sent to you from your MOVEit Administrator or in a notification email when a folder, file, or package (email attachment) was shared with you.

Single Sign-on Credentials. (when configured). If your corporate or company environment uses trusted identity providers such as Microsoft O365 or similar, and these identity providers are configured for use by MOVEit, you can chose that identify provider and sign-on to MOVEit.

The following table provides guidelines for credential use.

Clickable Keyboards

Note: Consider using this feature if you must sign-on from a public computer. The UI-keyboard feature can help reduce risk posed by keystroke loggers.
  1. Click the appropriate keyboard icon and enter your username or password (or both).

(If you are a guest user, your username might already be filled in with your email address.)

  2. Click Sign On. (You might be prompted to change your password.)

Request a Password Change link (when configured by your organization)

The Forgot Password option displays on the sign-on dialog if:
  • Your organization allows users to reset their passwords.
  • You have provided alternate methods of identification (for example, security question answers).
Note: If the Forgot Password link does not display on the sign-on dialog box, you will need to contact your org administrator or user that originally shared folder, file, or package access. You will need to ask them to reset your password or renew your access.

The Register and Send Files page displays.

  2. Enter the email address of the recipient to whom you are sending the package and your email address.

  3. Enter the requested information and click Register and Send Files.

One of the following actions occurs:

    • You are signed on immediately. Or,
    • You receive a message that an email is being sent to you with information about completing the registration. Follow the instructions in the email.

Try Single Sign-On with SAML ( if configured)

Single Sign-On lets you sign on using an account with an Identity Provider that can authenticate your username and password and sign you on to multiple applications, including MOVEit.

  1. Click Try Single Sign-On with SAML.
  2. If there are multiple Identity Providers for your organization, you are prompted to select a provider.
  3. Optionally, select Remember selection so that you can bypass the Select Identity Provider step the next time that you sign on.
  4. Click Continue. The Identify Provider sign-on screen opens.
  5. Enter your username and password and click OK.
Note: If you click Cancel on the Identity Provider sign-on page, an error appears. To sign on, you must restart your MOVEit Transfer web interface session.

If you sign on successfully, then on subsequent sign-ons, when you open MOVEit Transfer, you go directly to your Home page.

Help

  • Provides a contact name and email (if available) for the licensed enterprise running MOVEit Transfer.
Note: The email address might not be encrypted. If your inquiry is sensitive, use Ad Hoc transfer, a secure web form, or other secure channel.
  • The Current Environment section provides information that is useful to tech support when solving a problem.

Language Selector

This option appears if your organization has configured it.

The sign-on page changes to the language you select. (A cookie is put on your system so that the page appears in that language the next time you sign-on).
