As organization administrator, you can require users to apply classification fields. These classification fields imply the level of care necessary when senders, receivers, or data custodians handle Ad Hoc packages (SETTINGS > Ad Hoc Transfer - Content [ Classification Field ]).

When you enable this feature, MOVEit Transfer users can use Classification Field values to indicate:

  • The predicted impact that sharing the package with an unfriendly or unnecessary third-party could have upon the business or organization.
  • The expected scope of information access for intended package recipients.
Tip: Most policies that incorporate classification markings for media, documents, and messages require that the classification of a package reflect the highest classification found in the contents of the package. For example, if a user or custodian of a package attaches what is considered a Confidential attachment to an unclassified package, that package should be re-tagged as Confidential.

Require Classification Field as Org Policy

Classifications become optional until an administrator enables the 'is mandatory' control.
