To install OpenAccess SDK Server and IP SDK, you can log on as root or another user.
If you log on as any user other than root, the security operating system user ID and password authentication mechanism (for example, ServiceAdminAuthMethods=OSlogon(UID,PWD)) will not be supported for this installation. To specify a minimum level of security, the agent can be configured to allow access from specified clients based on their TCP/IP address. Only this address, or range of addresses, will be capable of connecting to the agent.
If you log on as root, you are asked during installation for an administrator account. This will be the only account that is authorized to do administration with this agent. After installation, this administrator can use the OpenAccess SDK Manager to grant authorization to other users, for example, adding other administrators.
For more information about authentication and defining security for OpenAccess SDK, refer to the OpenAccess SDK Administrator’s Guide.
