The following table describes each command-line parameter. See Table Required Silent Installation Arguments and Table Optional Silent Installation Arguments for the required and optional arguments that follow the /v parameter. All arguments are case-sensitive.

Silent Installation Parameters

Parameter Description
/s Instructs the installer to perform a silent installation.
/x Instructs the installer to uninstall silently.
/v"arguments parameters" Passes arguments to the installer; the v must not be followed by a space. All arguments and following parameters must be enclosed between the quotation marks ("). See Table Required Silent Installation Arguments and Table Optional Silent Installation Arguments for a description of the required and optional arguments that follow the /v parameter.
/qn Additional parameter required to perform a silent installation.

The v must be followed by a space, and then, by the path where you want the log file created, as well as the name of the log file. The directory you specify for the log file must exist. If you specify a directory that does not exist, the installation fails.
