Choose one of the following to start OpenEdge Management:
  • Execute the fathom -start command in the OpenEdge environment window proenv. For more information about command-line references, see Fathom Command-line References.
  • In Windows, OpenEdge Management is registered as a Windows service at the time of installation and the OpenEdge Management Service for OpenEdge service is started automatically. If not started, however, you can start this service from the Windows Services utility.
Note: Note that OpenEdge Management is hosted on Progress Application Server and is not part of AdminServer, as in previous releases. Consequently, starting the AdminServer is not required to start OpenEdge Management.

To access OpenEdge Management from a web browser:

  1. Ensure that the OpenEdge Management is started.
  2. To access OpenEdge Management from a web browser, enter the URL http://host:port in the Address or Location field.
    The host is the name of a machine on which OpenEdge Management is installed, and the port is the web server port (by default, the HTTP port is 9090 and the HTTPS port is 9443).
  3. To access OpenEdge Management locally from the Windows Desktop, choose Start > Programs (or All Programs) > Progress > OpenEdge > Management Console.

The OpenEdge Management login window appears and you must enter your user name and password to login, as described in Enter the default user name and password.
