You can add a remote AdminServer that is automatically discovered in OpenEdge Management. Remote AdminServers are automatically discovered only if you enable the auto-discovery feature. For information about enabling the auto-discovery feature, see Enable auto-discovery feature for remote AdminServer.

To add a remote AdminServer that is automatically discovered in OpenEdge Management:

  1. From the Management Console menu, choose one of the following:
    • Click Options > Remote AdminServers.
    • Click Resources > Remote > AdminServers.
The Remote AdminServer Configuration page appears.
  2. Select the Show only auto-discovered option. The list of remote AdminServers that are automatically discovered appears.
  3. Select the remote AdminServer that you want to configure and click New.
  4. In the Add AdminServer dialog box, perform the following:
    1. (Optional) Select the Use encrypted connection option to secure the communication between OpenEdge Management and the remote AdminServer. You can use this option only if you configure the secure connection for the remote AdminServer. For information on configuring the secure connection for the remote AdminServer, see Set up secure communication-related security for a remote AdminServer.
The default encryption protocol is TLS 1.3. If the Use encrypted connection option is selected, the default certificates provided by OpenEdge are used.
    2. In the Username and Password fields, type the username and password of the system hosting the remote AdminServer.
Note: If you are configuring INI‑based authentication instead of operating system (OS)‑based authentication, enter the INI username in the Username field and the plain‑text INI password in the Password field. OpenEdge Management uses these credentials to authenticate with the AdminServer. For information on configuring INI authentication, see Configure INI authentication for AdminServer and OpenEdge Management communication.
  5. Click Save. The configured AdminServer is displayed in the Online section of the Remote AdminServer Configuration page.
Note: If you provide invalid information, OpenEdge Management displays an error. You can click Try Again to make necessary changes to the information you provided earlier.
