The AdminServer configuration properties are essential for monitoring various OpenEdge resources, including PAS for OpenEdge instances, databases, and Unified Broker frameworks. These property files enable two-way synchronization between the AdminServer and OpenEdge Management in the following cases:
  • When AdminServer pushes configuration data to OpenEdge Management.
  • When a resource is created or updated through OpenEdge Management.
The following are the configuration files for the OpenEdge resource management:
  • conmanager.properties
  • pasmanager.properties
  • ubroker.properties
You can edit these configuration files directly or through OpenEdge Management, which automatically updates the corresponding files.
For the PAS for OpenEdge instances, any changes made during the installation of a new instance or when modifying properties of an instance through OpenEdge Management, the changes are written to these property files. Upon restarting the AdminServer, it loads the updated files, and pushes the configuration data back to OpenEdge Management.
Note: The AdminServer must be running for OpenEdge Management and command-line utilities such as DBMAN, ORAMAN, NSMAN, and MSMAN to function properly. It relies on these property files for the configuration information of OpenEdge resources.
