Expand from the starting set to connected devices

Use the controls provided as needed to discover even more assets connected to your network:

  • Virtualization environment. Select this checkbox to extend the scan to include guests and hosts referenced by each virtualization server.
  • Wireless infrastructure. Select this checkbox to extend the scan to include access points referenced by each wireless LAN controller. Additionally, you can select the Include clients checkbox to also include connected wireless clients (guests).
  • Storage devices. Select this checkbox to extend the scan to include devices referenced by each storage controller or agent.
  • Seed address scan. Select this checkbox and use the drop-down menu that appears to select a scan depth to have WhatsUp Gold using a "seed scan". This type of scan uses network data (e.g., routing tables) to expand the starting set of devices. The expanded set is then used as new seeds to expand again repeating up to the selected scan depth.
