Application Monitoring blackout policies allow you to designate specific days of the week and times that WhatsUp Gold does not alert you on the health of monitored components. For example, you may not want to receive alerts on the weekend in which case you would create a blackout policy including blackout times from 12:00 a.m. Saturday to 12:00 a.m. Monday.

To create an individual action:

  1. Select SETTINGS > Application Monitoring > Application Monitoring Actions and Policies, then select the Blackout Policies tab.
  2. Click the Add icon to launch the New Blackout Policy dialog.
  3. Enter a Name and Description for the policy, then use the date/time grid to specify when the blackout policy will be in effect. See On call rotation for an example of how the blackout policy interface can be used.
  4. Click Save.

You can also click to edit an existing blackout policy or to delete the selected blackout policy from Application Monitoring.
