Configuring an action

To configure an action:

1. Create the action in the Action Library dialog or through the Action Builder wizard. The setup consists of:
   • Specify the action target, such as contact information for an email or phone alert.
   • Define any notification variables or program arguments, which contain the information to include in the alert message.
2. Assign the action to a device or monitor and specify the state change to trigger it. For more information, see:

After the actions have been completely configured and assigned, WhatsUp Gold launches the action as soon as the proper state change occurs.
