The Flowmon device configuration is performed using the web interface. The same interface is used to access the built-in collector and other add-on modules. Start a supported web browser and enter the device's IP address or domain name. For the first login, use the default user name "admin" and password "admin".
The FMC (built-in collector) is enabled by default and generated NetFlow data is sent to this collector. For long-time monitoring purposes, a dedicated collector is the recommended solution (for example, the Flowmon Collector).
The web interface can be extended with other optional modules.
The Flowmon Configuration Center (FCC) allows you to remotely set up your device. The Flowmon Monitoring Center (FMC) is used to observe and analyze collected NetFlow data. A detailed description of both centers can be found in the sections Configuration Center and Flowmon Monitoring Center.
The page header contains important elements. The Flowmon logo is in the upper-left corner. Clicking it redirects you to the main page, from which you can access all active modules. If you are logged in to a module, its name is shown in the box displayed next to the logo. You can click on it to open a list of other module icons to quickly skip to another module GUI.
On the right side, there is a status icon (bell). When everything is working correctly, the icon is grey. If there are any active/unread warnings or errors, the number of messages is displayed on the bell icon. Click the icon to open a window listing all messages, time, and severity. Users in the admin group can delete these messages.
The second icon displays an abbreviation of the currently selected language. To change the language, click the icon and select a new one.
Click the third icon to access the Resource Center or Documentation and feedback links. The Resource Center contains links to documentation, support and feeback pages, news and training materials, but it is only available when the client has access to https://data.pendo.io.
In other cases, the Documentation and feedback menu is displayed. When using the User Guide, an online version is opened by default. If https://docs.progress.com/ is not accessible from the client, a local PDF copy of the User Guide is provided.
The last box shows the currently logged user and active tenant name. Click the user name to open a drop-down menu. Click the gear icon to open a User settings form. You can change active tenant under the Tenant option (for more information about tenants see Tenants). There is also an option to log out.
