License

On this page, you can check all your valid licenses and Standard and Extended Supports and insert the license file. The valid license file is already uploaded for the first power-on (this does not apply to virtual devices). If you use the Recovery CD to restore your device to factory settings or if you somehow delete your license file, you must choose the license file and click Upload to ensure the device will work properly. Here you can also check if the license is valid.

It is also possible to upload additional sublicenses (marked "Sublicense") with individual expiration dates.

Additional license information (company, address, and person), device model, and Device HWID are shown at the bottom of the page.

License expiration and notifications

Your Flowmon deployment typically comes with two different types of licenses:

• Product license: This is needed for general product functionality and may include entitlements for the use of extension modules like the Network Anomaly Detection System.
• Support service license: This is an entitlement for services and the assistance of our Support department. The Support service license is also needed to access the latest versions, features, and online functionalities like blacklists.

As you are reaching license expiration, there are several stages of notifications which are sent to try to ensure there is no unexpected down time or gaps in service.

30-days before expiration

When your license is due to expire in 30 days, the system administrator recieves an email notification. There is also a daily in-product notification, that you can see in your Notification center.

14-days before expiration

After reaching 14 days to expiration, there is a permanent in-product warning in the header and your notifications.

License is expired

Once your license has expired the warning in the header and notifications turn into errors and your user experience may be limited.

• Expired Product license - Flowmon no longer collects and processes any data/flows. You will not be able to update to newer versions.
• Expired Support service license - You will not be able to update to the next major version or utilize the services of our Support team.

Trial license

When evaluating Flowmon, users are provided with a Trial license. Trial licenses have a permanent notification with a link to instructions on how to acquire a full product license.
